It would be an automatic qualification to the round of 16, with a much changed Chelsea side battled the frigid conditions in Kazakhstan and won to all but guarantee a top - eight in the league.
The defeat leaves Astana in the final knockout playoff spot with four points and at risk of elimination.Chelsea makeup the points in the first half through goals from Renato Veigo and Marc Guiu. Guiu gave Chelsea a perfect start with a goal in the opening 20 minutes. The 18 year old Spaniard scored the second goal with a striker's goal at the front post following a good wing play by Pedro Neto. Renato scored the third goal.
