KICKBOXING
Kickboxing
is a martial art sport that involves fighting with hands and legs between two
opponents in a boxing ring. Fighters fight with bare legs, hand gloves and
mouth guard. It is a sport practice for self-defense, fitness and competitions.
Kickboxing is a game for both male and female. Kickboxing is different from
taekwondo, boxing and wrestling. A kick-boxer can covert to any other martial
arts without too much obstacles.
RULES AND REGULATIONS OF
KICKBOXING
Every sport
or game have a laid down rule and regulations to make it more organized, safe
and fair to everybody. Every sport activity has its own rules and regulations
that make it different from other sport being it martial arts or not.
Kickboxing have a special and good rule that ensures fairness to all
competitors. These rules are:

Kickboxing
must take place on a boxing ring with a referee to ensure fairness.

All
fighters must use protective like gloves, foot-pad and mouth guard.
·
All
competitors must be group according to weight categories to ensure fairness.
·
Technical
knockout comes in when the referee sees that one fighter cannot continue
fighting or defend himself, then fight would be ended.
·
If
fighters have the same points, it would be considered as a draw.
·
Each
round last for three minutes with one-minute break between each round.
·
The
fight begins after listening to referees instructions.
·
Knockout
occurs when a fighter is stroked by his opponent and cannot continue after ten
count. The striker is then declared winner.
TERMINOLOGIES AND SKILLS USED IN KICKBOXING

Low
kick: This is a kick targeting opponent’s thigh.
·
Uppercut: This is a close range punch
targeting opponent’s chin.
·
Hook: Is a powerful punch targeting the
body or head of an opponent.
·
Jab: This is a straight fast punch to distract opponent.
·
Combination: This the act of throwing different
types of punches to break opponents defense.
·
Push kick: This is a kick to make a distance
from opponent.
·
Checking: This the act of defending yourself
from opponent kicks using legs.
·
Parry: This is the act of defending
yourself from punches using hands.
